Aging Life Care Association (ALCA) defines an Elder Care Managers as a health and human services specialist who helps families who are caring for older relatives. They are trained in several fields including but not limited to nursing gerontology, social work, or psychology with a specialized focus on aging and elder care.

The American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC) has defined Legal Nurse Consultants as a specialty practice of the nursing profession.
